The Produce industry has a tremendous demand for recent college graduates with a degree in agricultural programs. UC Davis' reputation in this industry uniquely positions students to emerge as new industry leaders. Students can bring new ideas and approaches to this collaborative and dynamic industry and help tackle challenges ranging from labor shortages and community welfare, to supply chain logistics and food safety, product innovations and transparency, as well as sustainability and equitable food access.
Produce Marketing Association Summit
With support from the Dean’s office, we are able to sponsor a select group of UC Davis students to attend the Produce Marketing Association Summit each year. The Produce Marketing Association is an organization that brings together members from all corners of the fresh produce and floral industry to do business, explore innovations, network, and learn together to grow a healthier world. The PMA Fresh Summit is an annual international convention and expo attended by over 20.000 participants throughout the global fresh produce and floral supply chain. The event begins with a variety of workshops, seminars, and networking receptions, and culminates in an astounding exposition highlighting the new products and innovations of over 1,000 exhibitors. Our collaboration with PMA's Center for Growing Talent and the commitment of UC Davis alumni creates a unique student experience. A mentoring program matches each student with an industry member. Students are able to walk the floor with their mentors, join them for industry meetings and networking events, and continue to reach out for advice when looking for professional opportunities.
Next Year's PMA Summit will be held October 28-31, 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana
